About the show:
My Generation® is a musical retrospective filled with powerful memories and the greatest hits
from the 60's, 70's and 80's.
Hosted by Brendan 'Jonsey' Jones and Amanda Keller, My Generation is the quintessential guide
to the times that shaped a generation. From news to movies, politics to fashion, all the seminal
events and memories are covered, along with the most important ingredient of all - the music.
My Generation truly is 'the soundtrack of our lives'.
After the initial shock at being referred to as a Baby Boomer, Amanda has decided to embrace her inner oldie. Let’s face it, at 47 she’s the media version of the rosetta stone, and has seen more pilots than all the world’s airlines combined.
Amanda’s television career began as a producer's assistant on Simon Townsend's Wonder World. Within a week she was the program's head researcher and she hasn't looked back.
In 1985 Amanda became a regular on-air reporter on Ray Martin's Midday Show but it was Beyond 2000 that made her a household name. During her six years on the program she reported from all over the world and has received a number of journalism awards, including a United Nations Media Peace Award (1989) and the Michael Daley Award for Science Journalism (1989).
In 1994 Amanda’s career took on a whole new dimension when her mischievous sense of humour and quick wit were revealed on Channel Seven’s The Denton Show. This partnership with Andrew Denton continued on radio…they shared a 5 year stint as one of the country’s leading breakfast radio duos on Triple M.
Amanda went on to host ABC TV’s Mondo Thingo, but was lured back to brekkie radio, where she continues to enjoy success with co-host Jonesy at WSFM.
Amanda has played a starring role in SBS’s comedy Swift and Shift Couriers, is a regular on Spicks and Specks, Good News Week, and is currently the Team Leader of the Baby Boomers on Channel 10’s Talkin' Bout Your Generation.
Brendan Jones is well known as co-host of WSFM’s Sydney breakfast show with Amanda Keller, Mornings with Jonesy and Amanda. He started his radio career on community station 2BCR Bankstown and his big radio break came in 1990 with a night Job at 6KA Karratha. This was followed by 2NM Muswellbrook, i98fm Wollongong, B105 BRISBANE, Triple M Brisbane and Triple M Sydney.
Brendan has won three Australian Commercial Radio Awards and been nominated for six in total, including three for Best On-Air Radio Team.
His television credits include a weekly segment on Channel Nine’s Mornings with Kerri Anne, a guest role on the SBS television series Swift & Shift, as host of the environmental series Do It Green, and a regular guest on 20-1. He has also made appearances on The Morning Show, Nat Geo Presents, Joker Poker and Off the Record. Brendan, who is a keen motorbike enthusiast, writes a monthly column for Live to Ride Magazine.
