Police are appealing for witnesses after a motorbike travelled through a red light and struck a young boy on a pedestrian crossing before leaving the scene in Kingston on Tuesday afternoon.
The 5-year-old and his mother were crossing Juers Street near Attunga Street shortly after 4.30pm, when the motorbike travelled around a car stationary at the red light and collided with the boy.
The motorbike then continued to drive away westbound on Juers Street.
The boy sustained a minor head injury as well as fractures to his leg and ankle as a result and was transported to the Queensland Children's Hospital in a stable condition.
It's believed the motorbike was red in colour, with police urging any motorists with dash cam footage of Juers Street or Attunga Street at the time of the incident to come forward.
