Farmers against the New Acland Coal Mine extension will be holding their breath until approval is received from the State Government.
The controversial Stage 3 of the project was given the green light by the Federal Government on Friday.
It is now up to the Palaszczuk government as to whether or not they issue the mining lease and water license allowing construction to go ahead.
Hundreds of jobs will be established during the project however many local farmers say if it goes ahead underground water will be ruined.
The mine is expected to run out of coal later this year.
