A record number of runners will pound the pavement at this year's Gold Coast Marathon.
For the first time in its 40 year history, the main event has sold out, meaning more than 6,500 runners will compete in the 42km race.
Member for Gaven Meaghan Scanlon said it was further evidence the Commonwealth Games put the city on the map.
“The fact that the marathon has sold out for the first time in its history is proof that the Commonwealth Games is driving more visitors than ever before to the Coast," she said.
If you want to lace up your running shoes but missed out on the marathon, there are seven other races you can sign up for including the half-marathon, 10km run, fun run, and even a 2km junior dash.
In 2017, nearly 25,000 people took part in the event.
This year's Gold Coast Marathon will be held from June 30 - July 1.
