Amy Shark has finally been recognised for her song writing talent at the APRA awards down in Melbourne overnight.
The Gold Coast artist winning the peer-voted Song of the Year gong, for hit single "I Said Hi".
It's the first time Shark has taken out the Australasian Performing Right Association award, despite being nominated the previous two years for other hits Adore and Weekends.
The latest award for the local artist comes just days out from the Gold Coast Music Awards being held at Surfers Paradise this Thursday night, May 2.
Amy has scored four nominations at the GCMAs, including Release of the Year for debut album "Love Monster", and Song of the Year for "I Said Hi".
She's also up for best Artist and Live Act.
