Baby rescued from locked car

Mum in court next month

Baby rescued from locked car

A mother's due to face Southport Court accused of leaving her baby in her car for an hour while she went to the doctor and bought cigarettes.

Firefighters had to smash open the window of the vehicle in the Australia Fair car park, after a Coles employee spotted the baby and raised the alarm around midday yesterday.

The child was taken to hospital, while the 28-year-old mother's due in court next month.
