A one-year-old boy has been tragically killed at Paradise Point after being run over by a taxi.
Police claim they were called to the scene after the incident on Excalibur Court on Sovereign Island at around 10.30am on Friday.
It's believed the child was returning home from a shopping trip with his aunt and three siblings when he was hit by the maxi taxi, suffering critical head injuries.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, with the incident being treated as a tragic accident.
The 38-year-old aunt and the 32-year-old cab driver were both taken to hospital in severe shock.
It is understood the baby's parents are overseas.
The Forensic Crash Unit was investigating.
