A heads up to Gold Coast pet owners who can't bear the thought of not being able to find a place to rent with their furry friend.
There is still time to have your say on the Queensland Government's plan to overhaul the state's 40-year-old renting laws, including a change to make it easier for people to own a pet.
Property owners could be forced to accept tenants with dogs and cats, which is already set to happen in Victoria after laws were passed in September.
Others proposed changes include being able to hang photos on walls and make repairs sooner, as well as allow property owners to charge for fixes when they're not covered by rental bonds.
