Not much sunlight to dry the clothes in today.
The sun went up at 6:37am on Thursday, and was due to set just before 5pm, making it the shortest day of the year.
The longest night will follow, and to celebrate Burleigh Heads is set to come alive right on dusk, hosting the Winter Solstice Festival.
It has been nine years since the free, family event was last held there, but it is coming back with a bang.
Organisers promised it would be bigger and better than ever with live music, fire twirlers, BMX stunts, market stalls, street dining and heaps more.
James and Connor Streets will be shut from 3pm while the event is set up.
