Comm Games: Day 5 Action

All eyes on men's 100m final

Comm Games: Day 5 Action Yohan Blake thanks to Nick Webb

Plenty of action on the Gold Coast today for Day 5 of the Commonwealth Games.

All eyes will be on Carrara Stadium tonight to see the Men’s 100m final. Usain Bolt currently holds the world record for the race and while no Aussie’s have made it through to the final, fellow Jamaican Yohan Blake will be competing.

Over to the Optus Aquatic Centre, it’s another busy day at the pool. Keep an eye out for the Aussies in both the men’s and women’s 50m backstroke and freestyle heats. As for the finals, Aussie favourites Shayna Jack and sisters Bronte and Cate Campbell will be going head to head in the Women’s 100m Freestyle final.

The Aussie women’s netball team will be hoping for a win when they take on Fiji in Pool A.

In Basketball it’s Australia vs England in the women’s Preliminary Round Pool A and Australia vs Nigeria in the men’s.

Elsewhere today there are also finals in the artistic gymnastics, badminton, lawn bowls, shooting, squash, table tennis and weightlifting.
