The Rugby Sevens kick off today, wrapping up the Commonwealth Games with a bang. Robina Stadium is set to be packed to see Australia face Wales, before Australia take on England in the Women’s pool round.
Over to Carrara Stadium now, the athletics continue on day 9. We’ll see Aussies Patrick Tiernan and Stewart McSweyn compete for gold in the men’s 10,000m final, before Michelle Jenneke and Brianna Beahan race in the women’s 100m hurdles final.
The Aussies also have some gold medal hopes in the rhythmic gymnastics. Keep an eye out for Enid Sung – she’ll be competing in the hoop final and ribbon final. Fellow Aussie Alexandra Kiroi-Bogatyreva also has a big day – going for gold in the ball final and ribbon final.
As for team sports, the Aussie men’s hockey team will be hoping to take one step closer to tomorrow’s gold medal match – taking on England in the final. While it’s a local derby for the women’s basketball semifinal with Australia taking on New Zealand.
Elsewhere today there are also Aussies competing in the diving, boxing, badminton, lawn bowls, shooting, squash, wrestling and table tennis.
