Commonwealth Games Memorabilia Goes Under The Hammer

Unique souvenirs up for grabs

Commonwealth Games Memorabilia Goes Under The Hammer Just some of the items on offer on the GC2018 website

You can snap up a piece of Commonwealth Games history, with a bunch of unique items from the Gold Coast 2018 Games up for auction.

Among the 169 pieces of sporting memorabilia on offer so far are gold-medal-winning shot puts, boxing gloves worn in medal bouts, relay batons, and a heap of balls from a vast range of sports.

You could also eat your dinner in front of the TV, off an Official Commonwealth Games medal presentation tray, with a starting price of $155.

Other items up for grabs include the hockey ball used by our men's team, the Kookaburras, in their gold medal match, and the discus that saw Aussie Dani Stevens soar into the record books.

So far a netball signed by Australian netball team, the Diamonds, has proven the most popular item, reaching more than $2,000 on Thursday morning.

The auction ends at midday on the 30th of April, and Games organisers will reveal at a later date exactly where the money raised will go.

Some rhythmic gymnastics gear will go up soon as well.
