Former Bikie Faces Court Over Alleged Mudgeeraba Stabbing

UPDATE: A former Black Uhlans bikie has been remanded in custody after facing Southport Magistrates Court today.

32-year-old Steven Smith did not apply for bail after being arrested over the alleged stabbing of another man at Mudgeeraba on Wednesday afternoon.

The matter was adjourned until August 7 for a bail application to be made.

EARLIER: A Highland Park man is due to face court today after allegedly stabbing another man with a pocket knife in Mudgeeraba.

Police charged the 32-year-old over a fight in a Somerset Drive car park at around 3pm on Wednesday, which caused the nearby Hillcrest Christian College to be forced into lockdown.

It's believed the pair were known to each other, with a 51-year-old man taken to Gold Coast University Hospital with non-life threatening stab wounds to his chest.

His alleged attacker was arrested a short time later, and has been charged with affray, wounding and possessing a knife in public.

He's due to face Southport Magistrates Court this morning.
