The inquest into the Dreamworld ride tragedy continues into its second day today.

The coroner heard from police officers yesterday who investigated the fatal incident which claimed the lives of four people in October 2016.

They revealed there had been a number of warning signs about the Thunder River Rapids ride, including two safety audits from 1999 and 2006 that both recommended updating the emergency stop buttons.

Meanwhile it was revealed ride operators had 57 seconds to hit an emergency button when one of the rafts became stuck on the conveyor belt, which eventually forced another carrying six people to flip.
