Club disappointed in Jarrod Harbrow

Drink driving charges for Suns player

More off-field drama for the Gold Coast Suns.

The AFL club released a statement on Monday night, after player Jarrod Harbrow was charged with drink driving, saying officials were "extremely disappointed".

The star defender was allegedly caught more than double the legal blood alcohol limit, with a reading of 0.108.

The club said Harbrow had been drinking at home, before being caught behind the wheel on Sunday.

"He is extremely embarrassed by his actions and understands his poor judgement has let many people and his club down," said Suns General Manager of Football Marcus Ashcroft.

"Jarrod will have to work hard to regain the trust and respect of his teammates, peers and the wider Gold Coast community," he said.

Mr Ashcroft said Harbrow would be unavailable for selection for the Suns' upcoming match against Hawthorn on Saturday, with further penalties to be discussed.

In a separate incident, teammate Jack Martin was assaulted over the weekend.

Police charged a man over the attack and Martin was given the all clear to play against the Hawks.
