Two men have now been charged following a police pursuit across the border yesterday afternoon.
A red Volkswagen Golf eventually crashed into a barrier while swerving to avoid tyre spikes on the M1 at Tweed Heads, with three people arrested at the scene.
Police used pepper-spray on one man after he allegedly became aggressive towards officers.
A 21-year-old man was due in Tweed Heads Local Court on Wednesday on a number of driving offences, including police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, never licensed person drive on road, and use unregistered vehicle.
A 27-year-old man was charged with resist officer in execution of duty, carry cutting weapon upon apprehension, and possess prohibited drug, and was granted conditional bail to appear before Tweed Heads Local Court on December 17.
While a woman also in the vehicle was being questioned by Queensland Police as investigations continue on that side of the border.
A possible connection to a drive-by shooting at Currumbin Waters on Monday night was being investigated.
