Fewer Bluebottles On The Gold Coast This Stinger Season

As jellyfish season draws to a close at the end of the month, Surf Life Saving Queensland has revealed there have been far fewer stings this year, compared to last.

Since September 2017, 4,500 people have been treated for bluebottle stings here on the Gold Coast.

That is nearly 10 thousand fewer painful stings than swimmers endured last year.

The reduction has been put down to a big wet season, favourable wind conditions and vigilant life savers.
