The Beach Volleyball at Coolangatta Beachfront has wrapped up with Australia’s Men’s team winning Gold in a thrilling match against Canada.
Christopher McHugh and Damien Schumann were pushed to the brink, before claiming a three-set victory over Canada.
But Canada had its revenge in the Women’s final later in the night, beating Australia’s team of Mariafe Artacho Del Solar and Taliqua Clancy in two sets, relegating the girls to Silver.
Over at Carrara Stadium the Athletics action was rolling on with more success for the Aussies.
Kurtis Marschall won the Gold in the Men’s Pole Vault with a clearance of 5.70m, while Dani Stevens claimed Gold in the Women’s Discus Throw.
In the Women’s Long Jump it was Brooke Stratton finishing with the Silver medal, and Luke Mathews surged home in the Men’s 800m to finish third.
It was a Gold medal double for Australia at the Lawn Bowls today, with our Open B6/B7/B8 Triples team beating New Zealand 14-13.
Then the Women’s Triples team of Carla Krizanic, Natasha Scott, Rebecca van Asch emerging victorious over Scotland 21-12.
And in the Diving at Optus Aquatic Centre, Melissa Wu wowed the crowd with a Gold medal performance in the Women’s 10m Platform, before James Connor took home the Bronze in the Men’s 3m Springboard final.
