Dozens of fire crews have worked throughout the night to contain a bushfire at Maudsland.
The blaze near Felling Dr broke out on Monday morning, with more than a hundred fire fighters working tirelessly in the blazing sun all day and overnight, to stop the flames from getting too close to any houses.
While no homes were directly under threat overnight, residents were told to Stay Informed in case the situation changed.
That warning was downgraded on Tuesday morning though, after continued back-burning efforts by fire fighters.
They managed to contain the blaze, but expected it to burn for a few more days.
Crews will continue to monitor and patrol the fire ground.
In the meantime, smoke may affect surrounding areas and residents were warned to close windows and doors, and keep respiratory medications close by if required.
Motorists should drive with caution and to conditions.
