Prepare to shiver through plenty more nippy mornings on the Gold Coast, as this cold snap continues.
The mercury dropped to just 3.8°C at Coolangatta Airport around 6:30 on Wednesday morning.
That is 6°C below average for this time of year, and the cold weather is not expected to let up anytime soon.
Adam Blazack from the Bureau of Meteorology says minimum temperatures are expected to stay well below the July average throughout the next week or so, except for a brief reprieve on Friday as some cloud cover moves in.
"A minimum of 9 or 10°C on Friday morning, so a bit more typical for this time of year and then on Saturday we'll be back to the cool conditions again," he said.
"It's still going to be fresh starts on the weekend, so hopefully those who have a fireplace or firepit out the back might be able to enjoy it!".
