If you've noticed people starting to get the sniffles around the office, it might be time to head to your GP!
According to Gold Coast doctors, now is the time to start thinking about getting your flu shot.
After last year's horror flu season in Queensland, Dr Lisa Beecham from the Gold Coast Primary Health Network is urging everyone to get vaccinated in the next couple of days or weeks.
"We've actually held people off and said it's best to start around May this year because we've found out that, especially for elderly people, the shot might only last for four months, and our peak season here on the Gold Coast is usually around August," she said.
She said the shot is free for over 65s, kids six-months to five-years-old and pregnant women, but for everyone else, it's only around $20.
"You spend more than that if you buy cold and flu tablets, really," said Dr Beecham.
