Gold Coasters Urged To Report Any Graffiti Ahead Of Comm Games

Have you noticed less graffiti around the Gold Coast recently?

According to Gold Coast City Council, the number of graffiti incidents across the region has halved over the past five years.

That means clean-up costs have dropped, saving rate payers nearly $500,000.

With the Commonwealth Games just 35 days away, Mayor Tom Tate says now is the time to clean up those last few bits and pieces, before visitors start arriving.

He is encouraging locals to report any tagging or graffiti they might see, using the City App.

"You see it, you hit a button, take a photo, it uploads, generates the paper work and within three days that graffiti is removed," he said.

"If it's rude [it'll be removed] within 24 hours".
