Matt Damon is providing plenty of free tourism exposure for the Gold Coast.
The Hollywood A-lister is holidaying in the region, spending some time with mates on South Stradbroke Island yesterday.
Local MP David Crisafulli happened to spot the celebrity while touring the island in the morning, and stopped to have a chat.
He said Damon was down to earth, and certainly seem to be enjoying his time here.
"I tell you what, he's in no hurry to go home," said Mr Crisafulli.
"It was just like talking to an everyday bloke about the experience of a lifetime; he was chuffed".
He said having the famous face here said great things about our region.
"This guy could be in the Caribbean, he could be in the Maldives, and here he is on Straddie".
