Man in court after Southport scissors attack

A man has been charged after allegedly cutting another man's hand and leg open with a pair of scissors at Southport.

Police were called to the scene in Norman Street around 12:08am on Tuesday, with reports someone had been stabbed.

The wounded 35-year-old from Benowa was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition.

While a 49-year-old Surfers Paradise man was due to front Southport Magistrates Court charged with grievous bodily harm, as well as drug offences.
