The Westpac Rescue Helicopter sprang into action yesterday, after a man in his 50s came off his jetski in dangerous conditions off the Gold Coast.
He and a mate were tossed into the rough water at Jumpinpin bar off South Stradbroke Island on Sunday afternoon.
One of the men managed to swim to shore but the other man spent two hours getting tossed about by the 3m waves, with the Volunteer Marine Rescue unable to reach him due to the conditions.
He was eventually rescued by brave crews battling the big waves and strong winds, winched on board the Lifesaver 45.
