HOMICIDE UPDATE: Image Of Man Wanted For Questioning

Police Investigate Body In Barrel

HOMICIDE UPDATE: Image Of Man Wanted For Questioning PICTURED: Zlatko Sikorsky & 2014 Holden Commodore

UPDATE: Detectives investigating the death of a person in Logan have released the identity of a 34-year-old man they believe may able to assist with their active inquiries into the case.

Zlatko Sikorsky (pictured) is believed to be travelling in a silver 2014 Holden Commodore with a sunroof and Queensland registration 966 WKB (pictured).

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is urged not to approach him but to contact police immediately.

EARLIER: A murder investigation is underway after a body was found dumped in a barrel in the back of a ute at Staplyton.

Police located the vehicle a short time after it sped away from them in nearby Buccan around 1:30pm on Wednesday.

It came as they were there to investigate the case of a missing 16-year-old girl, who has disappeared from her Brisbane home on June 15.

Detective Superintendent Mark White said they're scouring the area where the ute was left for information.

"There's a fairly intensive forensic examination that is occurring as we speak," said White.

"Where the vehicle was located was near ... a mobile home park.

"We're in the process of speaking to all the residents there to canvass any information that may be relevant to what our investigation is focused on."

Police are now looking for a man, possibly armed, driving a silver Holden Commodore with registration 966 WKB.

People warn people not to approach the car if they see it, and immediately call police.
