Missing Commonwealth Games Athletes Seek Legal Advice In Sydney

Some of the 19 African athletes who fled the Gold Coast after the Commonwealth Games have reportedly resurfaced down in Sydney.

According to The Daily Telegraph, a group of them have sought advice on how they can legally stay in Australia, at a refugee service in New South Wales.

Eleven of the missing sportsmen and women are believed to be from Cameroon, with others from Rwanda, Uganda, Sierra Leone and Ghana.

Their visas officially expire at midnight on Tuesday, but they may be eligible for bridging visas, allowing them to avoid detention if they don't fly home today.
