The Premier is trying to cement the Gold Coast as the Hollywood of Australia, but she needs the Prime Minister's help.
A live-action Dora The Explorer movie is expected to film at the Village Roadshow studios in Oxenford in the middle of the year, but Paramount is demanding its tax offset be upped to 30 percent.
Annastacia Palaszczuk is currently over in LA meeting with film studios, but said she has written to Malcolm Turnbull to try and get him to sign off on the plan.
According to News Corp, Paramount will make a final decision about where the movie will be shot later this month.
The James Bobin-directed feature will open in cinemas August 2, 2019.
