Paramedic Killed In Mackay Revealed To Be Gold Coast Dad

Tributes For Loving Father Of Two

Paramedic Killed In Mackay Revealed To Be Gold Coast Dad PICTURED: QAS officer Craig McCulloch

The Queensland paramedic who tragically died while responding to an emergency call in Mackay was actually a Gold Coaster.

Tributes were flowing for father-of-two Craig McCulloch, who was on his way to a code-one emergency west of Mackay on Monday morning when his vehicle crashed on a rural road.

Other paramedics and bystanders attempted to save his life but he died at the scene.

It has since been revealed the 32-year-old was actually a Gold Coast resident, and would travel to Mackay for work before coming home to see his partner and twin children.

"He does have family here in town that he would stay with", said QAS Commissioner Russel Bowles.

"He has an auntie and uncle in town, and then he would return to his partner and young family on the Gold Coast for his days off."

The Queensland Ambulance Service stated on Tuesday there had never been a death of this nature involving one of their own in its history.
