A woman in her twenties is fighting for life after a crash at Tugun overnight.
The car she was a passenger in hit a barrier on the M1 shortly after 2am, before rolling several times.
It was believed the woman may have been thrown from the vehicle following the impact.
She was rushed to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a critical condition, under lights and sirens.
The male driver managed to escaped unharmed.
The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.
Meanwhile, two other people were taken to hospital after their car crashed into a business on the Gold Coast Highway near the corner of Christine Avenue at Burleigh Waters around 1:20am.
A male in his 30s and a female in her 20s were both transported in stable conditions to the Gold Coast University Hospital, with chest and neck pain.
Senior Sergeant Bradyn Murphy said with showers about across the long weekend, we need to be extra careful on our roads.
"Wet roads around the Gold Coast are tow truck heaven," he said.
"[People] don't have the gap between them, they still travel at or a little bit faster than the speed limit, then when things go wrong they don't have that room or that grip on the road to stop".
