Police have allegedly uncovered drugs and weapons, after pulling a stolen car over in Nerang on the weekend.
They had intercepted the vehicle on Hinkler Dr shortly after midnight on Sunday, when they claim the male driver became violent.
The man is accused of pushing a senior constable to the ground and attempting to run off, but he was arrested after a short foot-chase.
Police then searched the car, allegedly finding a gun, two tasers, knuckle-dusters, ammo and cash as well as a quantity of the drug ice.
A 36-year-old man was charged with a string of offences including unlawful use of a motor vehicle, assaulting a police officer, and various weapon and drug possession offences.
He was scheduled to appear in the Southport Magistrates Court on Monday.
