Teens charged over attempted adult store robbery

Dog squad follows trail to nearby park

Teens charged over attempted adult store robbery

Two teenagers have been arrested at a Burleigh Waters skate-park overnight, following the attempted armed robbery of a nearby adult shop.

Police will allege the 16-year-olds entered the business on Reedy Creek Road around 11:20pm on Thursday, one of them armed with a baton.

They apparently threatened the 26-year-old worker and took a swing at him with the weapon, but he ducked and the baton smashed a computer to the floor instead.

The pair damaged other items before running off empty handed.

Police were called and the dog squad followed the scent of the offenders to a nearby skate-park where the teens were arrested.

The two 16-year-olds from Varsity Lakes have since been charged with attempted armed robbery.
