Ryan James has been named captain of the Gold Coast Titans for 2018.
Coach Garth Brennan announced on Monday he would be keeping the 26-year-old in the role ahead of the NRL season start, which he took mid-way through 2017 when Kevin Proctor had his co-captaincy revoked.
The back-rower admitted he was excited to remain sole captain, and will rely on the likes of Proctor, New South Wales hooker Nathan Peats and new recruit Michael Gordon for support.
"I'm honoured and proud to be the sole captain this year," James said.
"I'll lean on probably four guys in the team that I talk to a lot, and if they say something and I don't have to say anything then so be it.
"They're leaders in their own right."
The Titans kick off their 2018 campaign against Canberra Raiders at Cbus Super Stadium on Sunday March 11.
