A truck driver in his 40s was taken to hospital in a stable condition this morning, after crashing into a tram stop at Broadbeach.
No one else was injured in the crash just before 9am and there were only reports of minor damage to the station, including poles knocked over.
Two fire crews made the area safe about 20 minutes later, before leaving the scene in the hands of police.
Meanwhile, a few people would have arrived late at the office after a nightmare run to work on the M1.
Traffic was backed up for about 4km around 8:30am on Wednesday, following a crash in the southbound lanes at Coomera.
Two vehicles collided near the Oxenford exit at 7:40, with emergency crews called to the scene.
Two people were assessed by paramedics and one was later transported to the Gold Coast University Hospital suffering from chest pains.
