There is bound to be a lot of disappointed surfers on the Gold Coast, after plans to build a highly-anticipated wave pool here have been scrapped.
Tunnel Vision Wave Pools revealed it was looking to erect the epic surfing facility at Stapylton last year, but never made the application.
It has now been revealed the company ditched the location, instead snapping up a piece of land in Logan.
Acting Mayor Donna Gates told Channel Nine it was a shame the Gold Coast missed out on the highly-anticipated hi-tech wave pool.
"Logan City Council has actually sold a parcel of land to the applicant and they've moved the project to Logan," she said.
"It's disappointing; there was a lot of excitement and enthusiasm when it was proposed for the northern Gold Coast," she said.
