Proof on cause of death

Murder victim formally identified

A body found in rural Tasmania has been formally identified as missing man and suspected murder victim, Dwayne Robert Davies with an autopsy revealing a gunshot as the cause of death.

The 47-year-old suburban Hobart tattoo artist (pictured above) was reported missing late last month and human remains found on Saturday between Oatlands and Orford were exhumed before being formally identified yesterday.

Tasmanian officials say that an investigation is ongoing despite a 40-year-old man having been charged with the alleged murder.
