Wattle Range Council is looking for volunteers

Is your organisation on the list to attract potential volunteers? -  Council is looking to build upon the success of last year’s Volunteer Matching Initiatives to ensure our community organisations continue to be sustainable and vibrant. To assist this process Council will be developing a specific page on its website which will list community organisations who require volunteers for various roles.

Throughout the Wattle Range community there are many and varied organisations with roles for willing volunteers.  These organisations deliver essential services, recreational & educational opportunties, health support and a range of other social activities which provides a vibrant and dynamic community. Within the same community there are many individuals who are keen to volunteer but don’t know what volunteering options are available.

“Council staff receive regular enquiries from people looking to volunteer their time,” Council’s Chief Executive Officer, Ben Gower said. “This listing will provide a useful resource and assist in pointing these people in the right direction”.

“We are in the process of contacting those organisations involved in the previous Volunteer Matching Initiatives to invite their participation. However, if you are part of an organisation that requires the help of volunteers please let us know to ensure that you are included on the list.”

To confirm that your organisation is on the list or to register your interest please contact Sarah Marzec, Community Development Officer on 8733 0900, email sarah.marzec@wattlerange.sa.gov.au  or visit the Community Volunteer Project page at www.wattlerange.sa.gov.au/volunteers
