A Tonne Of Ice Precursor Seized In Sydney

Police have made a major breakthrough in the supply and trafficking of the drug 'ice' in NSW.

More than a tonne of ephedrine, which is a precursor in making the drug, was seized last Saturday (24 June 2017) after a shipping container was intercepted at Port Botany.

See below to watch the video of the drug raids.

Following extensive investigations, NSW police assisted by Australian Federal Police and Australian Border Force executed more than 20 simultaneous raids across Sydney and in the ACT at 7am this morning making numerous arrests.

It's all part of investigations by the State Crime Command's Gangs Squad, which commenced in December 2016, into an extortion involving members of the Rebels outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG).

Their inquiries revealed an intricate drug supply network which included plans to the large scale importation of drugs.

More details are expected when NSW Police Commissioner Mick Fuller addresses the media at 2pm
