Falls Crush Lawsuit Lands

Injured Festival Goers Join Fight

Falls Crush Lawsuit Lands

Lawyers have started flexing their muscle, ready for a fight against the organisers of last years Falls Festival.

A class action has been launched by more than 60 people injured in a terrifying crowd crush during the events Victorian leg.

19 people were taken to hospital with broken bones and other serious injuries and dozens more were hurt, after a stampede broke out between performances in the Grand Theatre at Lorne on December 30.

The claim alleges organisers restricted the exit from the theatre, causing the crush. Timetabling caused a rush of people to leave, and an adequate risk assessment was not done.

Lawyers say people paid anywhere from $249 to $468 to go to the four-day camping festival, and they would have expected to be in a safe environment.
