Work should take a couple of months

Better 4WD Access To Blacksmiths Beach

t'll soon be easier for 4WD users to get onto Blacksmiths Beach.

Lake Macquarie Council's started work on a new pavement for pedestrians and 4WDs to access the beach from Awabakal Avenue.

There'll also be better parking arrangements along Ungala Road.

“During construction, access to the beach via Awabakal Avenue is temporarily closed, and alternative access is available at Kalaroo Road near Jewells crossing, Belmont North,” Council's John Ferguson said.

Construction is expected to be complete by mid-2017.
