A teenage boy has drowned in the Swan River after a police chase on Monday afternoon.
Police were called to Maylands at around 3:15pm following reports of several teenagers jumping fences near Tranby and Clarkson Roads.
The teenagers ran into the Swan River while being chased by officers.
Most of the young people were found quickly but others weren't discovered and so police searched the river.
The body of a teenage boy was found in the water at Maylands late on Monday night as water police searched for the missing young people.
State Emergency Service volunteers will join the search operation this morning along with mounted police officers and police planes.
Officers from the major crime division and internal affairs unit are investigating the death.
