Bridge and Spida chat to local legend Jake Malby who is 19 days into an amazing feat, running 31 marathons in 31 days to raise awareness for depression and anxiety.
The 27-year-old communications technician from Palm Beach tells his astounding story of how he escaped from the depths of despair and used ultra marathon running as a way to find the light. Just under 3 years ago Jake Malby was tormented by anxiety, depression and suicidal and says that he wants to "live in a world where are allowed to speak about our emotions and our mental state."
For the month of August, Jake will run 42.2kms - the length of a marathon, every day. 31 marathons in 31 days from Pirate Park in Palm Beach to the Spit Main Beach and back again, to create awareness around mental health and raising money through https://give.everydayhero.com/au/31-marathons-in-31-days for the non profit charity, Livin'.
Bridge and Spida will follow Jake's story with a quick update every morning after 7am and Spida will be strapping on the boots for a run from Palm Beach to GoldFM to help support this local hero.
