No, this isn't a joke

There's a Cat Carnival happening this weekend!

If you're a cat lover, all your dreams are about to come true with Australia's FIRST ever Cat Carnival taking place this weekend!

Carrara Markets will turn into a feline-obsessed heaven this October 7 & 8, with special Insta-famous cats like the talented skateboarding duo Didga & Boomer and the gorgeous Winston Smushface!

Apart from being in the presence of Insta-famous stars, there will be a variety of different cat breeds for you check out and you can have a chat to their owners to find out more info! Some of the cat breeds confirmed for the weekend are:

  • Devon Rex
  • Selkirk Rex
  • Munchkins
  • Ragdolls
  • Scottish Folds
  • Scottish Shorthair
  • American Shorthair
  • Siberians
  • Maine Coon
  • Burmese
  • Siamese
  • Korats
  • Bengals

If you have a feline friend at home, don't think you will be able to escape empty-handed! There will be a number of exhibitors selling a range of goodies for you (you don't miss out either!) and cat essentials for you to splurge on.

For your kitty, you can expect to shop beds, cat clothes, leads, toys, enclosures, cat scratching furniture, hammocks and bowls! Why not pick up a little something for yourself or a cat-loving friend?! There's t-shirts, jewellery, socks, bags, gifts, homewares, stationery, games and more! There will also be a free cat magazine available to carnival goers.

But the fun doesn't stop there! There will be a Cosplay show on the Sunday where you can dress up as your favourite cat character and purr-ade the catwalk! You'll also be able to bring in a photo of your feline and hand it over to a Caricature Sketch Artist so you have a permanent memo of your furry friend.

Bring the kids along and enjoy kitty face painting and crazy cat videos! For those who are looking for more of an educational feel, the team from the Pet Wellness Clinic in Burleigh will be providing free health advice at the Cat Carnival! Plus, those who are looking for an extra addition to the family can stop by the Adopt-A-Cat section to see some beautiful cats waiting to be adopted!

Date: Saturday October 7 & Sunday October 8
Time: 9am-3pm
Location: Carrara Markets
